This year the Gumball 3000 Rally starts from London (26th May, Covent Garden) and ends up in Istanbul, Turkey.

ShipMyCar are proud to be this year’s Official Shipper of the Gumball 3000 Rally, providing shipping for many of the participants vehicles from all of the world to London and then returning their very special vehicles back to them straight afterwards.

We handle all import requirements into the UK for the Gumball participants ensuring their vehicles clear customs once their car has arrived via sea/air and deliver their vehicle to our storage depot in London prior to rally start, or to whichever destination they choose such as their hotel

After the Rally has finished we will be collecting vehicles straight away in the highest quality car transporters, fully enclosed and insured to £20m per truck. Vehicles will then be delivered back to Gumballer addresses around the world via sea, air and road.

No, what we really need is to see it in the same livery displayed on the original in its heyday. Fortunately that’s just what they brought out (as a mock-up from the looks of things) at the car’s debut at Paul Ricard HTTT in the South of France.

Not only is this new Hemi larger than the already oversized version it replaces, it’s also considerably more potent. The Pentastar says that its new 392 kicks out 470 horsepower and 470 pound-feet of torque – substantial improvements over the outgoing SRT8’s 425 hp/420 lb-ft. But those are factory ratings, and we all know those don’t necessarily match what’s actually under the hood of production models.

Thankfully, the crew over at Inside Line managed to score enough time with a 2011 Challenger SRT8 to strap it down to a proper dyno. And the results? How about 452 horses at 6200 RPM and 443 lb-ft at 4400? Yep, that’ll do nicely, and it means that Dodge may actually be underrating its potent performer just a tad. Oh, and for what it’s worth, IL managed to record 370 horses and 343 lb-ft from its 2010 Chevrolet Camaro SS on the same exact dyno. Chevy’s answer ought to be coming in the form of a Z28 with over 500 supercharged ponies… Stay tuned, the horsepower wars are clearly still in full swing.

The biggest change is of course that new 5.0 liter 302 DOHC engine under the hood. No longer does the company need to pull and engine and stroke it out to offer you the S302. With the addition of a Saleen high flow air filter and high flow exhaust system, the car produces 425 naturally aspirated horsepower.

Available in both coupe and convertible body styles, the 2011 Saleen S302 boasts comes with the company’s Racecraft suspension and an all new design 20″ Speedstar wheels. The exterior also has a new carbon fiber trimmed front fascia and rear deck spoiler design for 2011 in addition to the wheels.
Inside is a custom trimmed leather and suede interior, understated in its design. The company has also added a “piano-black” center console applique and the leather-wrapped shifter.

The coupe, bumper number 09 for 2011 was painted in a beautiful looking custom color called “Lights Out Yellow”. It has a hint of orange pearl in it that shows nicely in the light. At the show we asked if and when a supercharged version of the S302 would be available and they stated it was in the works for perhaps next spring.

First let’s talk specifics. Mechanically, for the first time on the Z06, the Z06 Carbon features Magnetic Selective Ride Control, Brembo carbon ceramic brakes with dark gray metallic calipers and enhanced cooling. Black 20-spoke 19-inch front/20-inch rear wheels feature Michelin PS2 tires.

On the exterior, the Z06 Carbon will be produced in two colors: Inferno Orange and Supersonic Blue. The body changes include black headlamps and mirrors, A ZR1-style body color spoiler, body color door handles, carbon fiber raised hood and black carbon fiber rockers and splitter. For track events, customer-installed Euro-style numbers come with each car.

Inside the Z06 Carbon, you’ll find ebony leather and suede complemented by matching blue or orange seat stitching. A unique steering wheel and sill plates are in place as well as logoed headrests. Suede is used throughout the interior and can be found on the steering wheel, shifter, seat inserts, armrests and doors.

Although the 2011 Corvette Z06 Carbon Edition is limited to 500 units, GM has packaged most of these upgrades into two new RPOs that can be ordered together or separately on any regular Z06.

The optional Z07 performance package includes the mechanical upgrades found the Z06 Carbon: Brakes, ride control and chassis and cooling upgrades. The Z07 also includes the Competition Gray 20-Spoke Wheels.

The CFZ Z06 carbon fiber package includes the black carbon fiber rockers, splitter and roof panel with the full width body color spoiler.

Arguably, engineers had their work cut out for them when it came time to working out the top mechanism — something designers never fretted over when penning the show car. GM worked to replace conventional aluminum bows and knuckles with composite parts to help retain the coupe’s roofline. The power top reportedly stows and deploys in 20 seconds, and is latched via a single, center-mounted handle.

Predictably, a power top mechanism, coupled with the requisite reinforcements, adds roughly 276 pounds to the Camaro’s curb weight, but output from both engine offerings remains unchanged. Six-cylinder cars continue to utilize GM’s 312-horsepower V-6, while Camaro SS models are fitted with GM’s 426-horsepower, 6.2-liter LS3 V-8. Both engines are available with either a six-speed automatic or a six-speed manual transmission, but SS cars fitted with the auto will lose 26 horsepower and 10 pound-feet of torque.

Although Camaro coupes are offered in an entry-level LS trim, Camaro Convertibles will only be offered in LS and SS forms. According to GM, an entry-level 1LT convertible stickers at $30,000 (including $850 in destination fees), signifying a $5270 premium over a comparable LT coupe. Pricing for SS models hasn’t been announced, but it’s expected a V-8 convertible will likely sticker in the neighborhood of $37,000.
